SENSATIONAL SUMMER SKEWERS

Hump Day Health Hack with @amysfitnessandnutrition

It can be hard to keep weeknight dinners both interesting and nutritious. Below are 5 Summer Skewer Recipes with 5 ingredients (or less) inspired by different places around the world to show you that eating healthy and delicious food doesn’t have to be boring.

Novelty Factor

Decision fatigue and boredom can derail our health goals. No one likes eating chicken and broccoli on repeat and so keeping things interesting is important. If you are trying to focus on your health and perhaps even trying to bring your partner and children along for the ride it’s important to keep it both delicious and exciting.

Perfect Combos

These recipes below balance healthy protein sources, with delicious veggies, healthy fats, herbs, and spices to deliver a taste sensation (I would argue) better than any takeaway. The protein (meats & cheese – or tofu if you’d prefer) deliver essential amino acids and help to keep us feeling full. Natural fats (in the meat or sauces) help us to absorb the fat-soluble vitamins in the food which are crucial for healthy hormone production. The veggies on each skewer add micronutrients and fiber to help fill us up (without the bloat of demolishing a pizza or bowl of pasta).
